Nxt was pleased to invite Amsterdam Art’s Young Professionals for a special evening in the museum, in celebration of the recently installed work Zoom Pavilion (2015). The audiovisual installation by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, in collaboration with Krzysztof Wodiczko, renders alarmingly visible the ubiquity of surveillance. Twelve surveillance cameras, using facial recognition, blob tracking and subtraction algorithms, track and monitor the public and determine whether their proximity is ‘suspicious’.
