This summer, Nxt Museum and Prosus are launching an artist AI residency to research how intent-driven AI will impact our society. Taking place in Amsterdam during July, August, and September 2025, the residency invites artists, programmers, and designers to question and explore these developments and their possible future impact(s).
Four artists were co-curated by Nxt Museum and Prosus for the residency. The AI residency programme focuses on gaining technical skills, learning about new tools, and exploring the possibilities of AI and data-driven research. During the first phase of the programme, data scientists from Prosus supported the artists by providing access to real-world tech, data, and AI experts.

Through live electroacoustic music improvisation, Farzaneh explores embodied knowledge in machine learning through electroacoustic improvisation. Her work frames AI not as a tool, but as a distinct intelligence capable of meaningful encounters.

“This residency offers a critical and creative space ideal for pushing beyond conventional AI narratives. I want to contribute speculative perspectives that honour both computational rigour and embodied artistic tradition — opening new possibilities through their intersection.”
– Farzaneh Nouri
Baast Studio operates at the intersection of technology, design, and experimentation. Drawing from a ‘90s tech-optimism and working with interactive digital experiences and installations, they create experiences that reflect the promises and pitfalls of today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
“This residency resonates deeply. We’re eager to explore AI’s potential and contradictions through an artistic lens, reflecting on how progress and complexity coexist.”
– Baast Studio
UNI_VERSE Studio has teamed up with Isabelle Udo and Sem Verbraak for this AI residency as a collective.
UNI_VERSE is a digital hybrid production studio based in Amsterdam. Through explorations of new techniques, software, and hardware, UNI_VERSE works on a range of commercial and artistic projects stretching and encompassing all corners of the expansive digital universe (pun intended).
Sem is a freelance Game and Web Developer with over ten years of experience specializing in game development, Web AR/VR technologies, full-stack web development, and AI integrations. Sem is known for a collaborative approach, clean code practices, and a commitment to leveraging technology to produce innovative and impactful user experiences.
Isabelle Udo is a Dutch digital artist and creative technologist based in Amsterdam, working at the intersection of art, fashion, and emerging media. Her practice (which she calls Digital Expressionism) explores the emotional potential of real-time rendering and generative systems, blending hardware and software into poetic, tech-driven experiences.

“With this work, we explore how intelligent systems might not simply observe us, but interpret us. Making us reflect on when perception turns into prediction, and presence becomes probability, how do we understand our reflection?”
– UNI_VERSE Team
Focusing on installation and video art, Feileacan’s work navigates the intersection of complex systems, information theory, and memetics, exploring the cultural and computational consequences of scaling informational systems. His practice often reflects on the longevity, ethics, and social ramifications of such systems.
“I hope to extract a focused thread of inquiry — specifically around memetic computation and the entangled consequences of scaling informational interfaces. This residency is a chance to deepen that research.”
– Feileacan Kirkbride McCormick
