Since the $69 million sale of Beeple’s Everydays: The First 5,000 Days at Christie’s, NFTs became a trending topic in popular reals such as Twitter and Clubhouse, as well as for in-person conversations. While the debate often swings towards the monetary value and technology’s potential, we explored the visual and conceptual aspects of the works – diving into topics such as craftsmanship, quality control, curating and collecting on June 23rd. Looking at the phenomenon from different angles, the conversation not only championed, but also challenged the notion of NFTs. The conversation was hosted by our founder Merel van Helsdingen, with our guests Gustaaf Dekking, founder of Artifund, an art and technology start-up, and Roosje Verschoor,  visual artist.
