On Thursday, October 23, a radical act of resistance and reinvention unfolds as Nxt Museum hosts the long-awaited return of Sandwell District, preceded by Planetary Assault Systems, for ADE 2025 with Visual Frequencies.
A radical act of resistance and reinvention unfolds as Nxt Museum hosts the debut of a new concept by Luke Slater, Regis (Karl O’Connor) and Function (Dave Summer)- a groundbreaking showcase premiering at NXT that reimagines the club experience through extended live performances and immersive visual storytelling.
This inaugural event welcomes the long-awaited return of Sandwell District. Regis and Function reunite for a rare hybrid performance that reactivates the collective’s uncompromising minimal-industrial techno, accompanied by archival visuals from the late Silent Servant (Juan Mendez), whose spectral presence extends the collective’s legacy into haunting visual form.
Planetary Assault Systems, Luke Slater’s legendary alias, will deliver a one-off, two-hour live exploration of industrial textures and hypnotic futurism—techno that has defined and continually pushes the genre’s boundaries.
Dutch artist Nadia Struiwigh opens the programme and brings ambient electronica and experimental techno into dialogue with Infinite Vibes’ enveloping projections, guiding audiences into altered states. Visuals across the night are further shaped by Nxt Artist in Residence Sophia Bulgakova, whose practice merges AI, XR, and cultural storytelling into charged atmospheres.
Together, these performances redefine techno as more than sound: it becomes architecture, memory, and resistance. This is electronic music stripped of safety nets – where every element is performed live, sets are extended to allow deeper artistic exploration, and local artists are integrated to create a truly immersive, city-specific experience. Join us for a night that bends time and perception, where intensity and absence coexist, and where one of techno’s most elusive collectives reclaims its stage.
