Performers Diede Oosterveen, Janrinke Bruinsma, Nader Adebnejad, Bartosz Gardziński and Marcel Wierckx have immersed themselves in the historical performance practice of electroacoustic music that emerged in Montréal, Québec, during the final decades of the twentieth century.

Known as Acousmatic Music, its practitioners organised a series of concerts called Rien à Voir (“Nothing to See”), where fixed-media compositions were performed on an orchestra of loudspeakers using a technique known as diffusion. Revisiting this rich performance tradition, the students use 4DSOUND as a platform to explore diffusion in a contemporary spatial audio environment.

The evening’s programme features works by Natasha Barrett, Francis Dhomont, Jonty Harrison and Marcel Wierckx, culminating in a second interpretation of Barrett’s Growth that highlights the performative possibilities of diffusion.

Doors open at 8:00 PM, with the bar open for a pre-concert drink. The concert begins at 8:30 PM and lasts approximately one hour. Afterwards, the bar will remain open, offering an opportunity to discuss the experience with fellow audience members and the performers.
