‘Bridging Worlds’ – at Rosewood Amsterdam
Curated by Nxt presents a new curation at Rosewood hotel

This November, Nxt presents a third set of works curated for Rosewood Amsterdam. This curation, entitled Bridging Worlds: Organic Connections and Discontinued Dimensions, presents a contrast between the architectural permanence of the hotel and the organic fluidity of nature and the human body through digital and performing arts.

In this series of digital artworks, Nxt and Rosewood invite guests to explore the intersection of art and technology, reflect on contemporary themes, and experiment with diverse forms of creative expression. The third curation embraces the integration of various digital media, including motion capture, photography and the exploration of a new colour palette that uses warmer tones as well as black and white.

Francesco Misceo (1997) is an experimental contemporary dancer and multimedia artist born in Modena, Italy.

He works in the fields of digital arts and performing arts, creating a diverse range of art forms, from stage performances to exhibitions that combine real and virtual worlds. He places the human body at the heart of technological and artistic challenges, adapting today’s technological tools to create timeless poetry through a visual language based on play and joy, which breeds imagination.

His work is acknowledged for its highly holistic artistic methodology, with a strong digital background, which considers not only physical elements, such as dance, but also optical, personal, sensorial, and, above all, spatiotemporal components as part of the choreography. Based on his profound interest in choreographing time and space, he aims to showcase his talent not only as a choreographer and dancer but also as a composer, lighting designer, scenographer, and visual artist.

Bart Hess (1984) is a Dutch artist based in Eindhoven. His work is characterised by its highly tactile and intuitive nature, blurring the lines between design, fashion, and art. His extensive body of work comprises material studies, animations, and photographs that explore the dynamic interplay between humans and materials, as well as nature and technology.

Hess is particularly fascinated by the human body, often enveloping it in ways that transcend conventional styling or fashion, leaning more towards performance art and science fiction. A central theme in his work is the tension between attraction and repulsion, as he explores the intimate relationship that materials share with our skin.

Ryan Koopmans (1986) and Alice Wexell (1992) are Stockholm-based artists whose collaborative practice explores the relationship between architecture, nature, and time.

For over a decade, they have worked together on art projects worldwide, often transforming real-world spaces into captivating digital environments that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination.

Koopmans, a Canadian-Dutch lens-based artist, has a long-standing interest in the built environment and its connection to society. Since 2007, his work has been exhibited and collected internationally. Wexell, a Swedish artist with a background in animation and coding, creates surreal digital environments using emerging technologies.

Together, they are best known for ‘The Wild Within’, an acclaimed series that reimagines architectural interiors through the introduction of flora and motion, symbolically exploring renewal and transformation.
