Kicking off the festival season with digital art
During Amsterdam Art Week, Nxt Museum ventured into the outside world to take part in Amsterdam Open Air – a dance music festival combining and celebrating a host of artists, genres and artforms. Curating visual new media works for the Saturday and Sunday performances on the main stage, as well as a waterside interactive installation, the vision for this event was to bring the festivals’ outdoor experience to the next level.
The work of digital artists Balfua and Post-Neon was displayed at the event’s main stage, accompanying sets by Italian techno duo Fideles and local party-starter JAEL. The work of these two artists was mixed live by VJ, Deframe.
Across the weekend, Roelof Knol’s work ‘Ripples’ was exhibited at the waterside chillout area, inviting festival goers to move and play in tandem with the artwork.
